Adding a Sub Domain to Hosting Account

Last Updated: May 8, 2007 3:12 PM

A sub domain is an easy way to create a memorable web address for various areas of your site. For example, you could create a sub domain for pictures on your site called "pics." Anybody that comes to your Web site could type pics.example.com instead of www.example.com/pics.

To Add a Sub Domain to Your Hosting Account

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, select Hosting Account List.
  3. Next to the hosting account you want to modify, click Open.
  4. In the Settings section of the Hosting Control Center, click the Domain Management icon.
  5. Expand the appropriate domain name panel, and then click Add Sub Domain.
  6. In the Sub Domain text box, enter the sub domain.
  7. From the Path drop-down list, select the existing content directory to which the sub domain will point or type a new content directory that does not appear in the list.
  8. Click Save.
