Using the Hosting Control Center, you can create, edit, and customize the user permissions for directories and subdirectories on your Web site.
To Create a Custom Directory on Your Windows Hosting Account
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, select Hosting Account List.
- Next to the hosting account you want to modify, click Open.
- In the Content section of the Hosting Control Center, click the Directory Management icon.
- To set up a new custom directory, click Create Directory.
- To add a new custom directory, type a directory name, select the permissions you want to apply to the directory, and click Continue. To create a virtual directory with a new application root in IIS, make sure the Web and Set Root permissions are selected.
- Verify the settings for your custom directory. If everything looks OK, click Add.
NOTE TO FRONTPAGE USERS: Microsoft FrontPage manages all of the directory and subdirectory permissions on your Web site. If you created custom directories on your Web site, or you are using another tool to build and or manage your Web site, switching to FrontPage may cause some problems. It can overwrite all of your directory permissions and make your site unusable.
