Does transferring a domain forfeit time left on the registration period?

When you transfer your domain name to us, one year is added to the existing registration period.

The only exception is the .EU tld. When you transfer a .EU domain to another registrar, you forfeit any time remaining on your original registration.Your new registration will expire one year from the date that you complete your transfer.
