Importing and Exporting Entries

With Quick Blogcast, you can subscribe to Web sites, such as news sites and blogs, and add the subscription to your blogcast. Content, or posts, from the Web site you subscribe to display on your Web site. Subscription content is updated in real-time, that is, when the author submits an updated post, your Web page reflects the update.

The Import/Export Entries page enables you to import an RSS feed into your blogcast or export your blog entries as a text file.

To Import Entries

  1. From the Manage Blog menu, select Import Entries.
  2. Select the format of the blog you want to import and click Next Step.
  3. Enter the URL where the RSS feed s located.
  4. Select a default status for the new entries.
    • Draft - All imported entries will be drafts until you manually publish them.
    • Published - All imported entries will automatically be published to your blogcast.
  5. Select if you want to include Comments or Trackbacks in your import.
  6. Click Import.

NOTE: Generic RSS imports will only include entries and categories. Comments and Trackbacks will not be imported using a Generic RSS import regardless of your selections.

To Export Entries

  1. From the Manage Blog menu, select Import Entries.
  2. Select if you want to include Categories, Comments, or Trackbacks in with your entries when you export.
  3. Click Export. The File download dialog opens.
  4. Click Save to save your exported file to your computer. Your entries are exported as a text document.
  5. Locate the folder where you want to save your file, enter a file name, and click Save.
