What might cause a search engine to reject a submitted page?

Last Updated: March 20, 2006 11:43 AM

Failure to comply with a search engine's page-inclusion criteria usually triggers a rejection. Problems with a page's Meta tags is a common reason for rejection. For example: Some search engines apply strict restrictions to the character count in a submitted page's Title tag and Description and Keywords Meta tags, and if the limit is exceeded the page page might be rejected. Another potential reason for a rejected submission is failure to disclose adult content. If a search engine that doesn't accept adult-oriented content discovers banned material on a submitted page, it will reject the submission.
