New versions of leading Internet browsers — starting with Internet Explorer 7 (IE &) — will allow visitors to instantly recognize that a given page has been authenticated by an EV SSL-issuing Certification Authority (CA).
When displaying an EV SSL-secured Web site, IE 7 will change the address bar color from the customary white to a shade of green. Additionally, the browser will display the name of the organization to which the certificate was issued, as well as the issuing CA.
New versions of Firefox and Opera are expected to use similar measures when displaying sites protected by EV SSL certificates.
