Can I Use Just a Registered DBA Name (i.e., Assumed Name or Trade Name) Instead of Legal Company Name When Applying for an Extended Validation SSL Certificate?

No. You must submit the verifiable and legally registered name of your organization when applying for an Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate. The legal name will occupy the EV SSL certificate's "O" field. However, you may, optionally, submit your organization's verifiable and legally registered DBA name, as well. If applicable, the DBA name will be placed in the "O" field along with the full legal organization name.
