A certificate holder may request that his/her certificate is revoked – or deleted. A revoked certificate is instantly rendered invalid. Generally, a certificate should only be revoked if the security of the holder's private key has been compromised.
Consider revoking your certificate if any of the following situations occur:
- Loss of your private key
- Your private key is compromised
- The certificate contains incorrect information
A revoked certificate cannot be re-keyed, reissued, or renewed.
