No, you do not need an iPod® to listen to a podcast episode. Podcasts that you add to your Quick Blogcast site can be played on your site without any additional software. Quick Blogcast features an inline audio/video player. This means that a separate player is not required to listen to your podcasts.
To listen to podcasts without a computer, you can any device that downloads from your computer and plays MP3s.
